This is an initiative funded through multiple educational grants provided by Industry. This international Trialist Workshop
will be held on December 6-7, 2010 in Washington, DC.
The major objective of this program is to gather a multi-disciplinary team of leading experts under one roof, and have them
develop consensus statements based on the following topics:
- Day 1: Cancer Cachexia
1) ongoing and past trials
2) endpoints
3) safety and co-treatment, and inclusion/exclusion data
- Day 2: Sarcopenia
1) definition
2) approval process, endpoints, and safety issues.
The meeting will be restricted to 30-40 international scientists, as well as representatives from NIH, FDA, CMS, and EMEA. The
invited speakers are well recognized academic leaders in geriatrics, oncology, cardiology, pulmonology and regulatory issues.
We hope that the development of consensus of these contentious issues will greatly facilitate future design and performance of
clinical trials in the clinical areas of cachexia and sarcopenia.
