MedEd GS Module

Mededgs is proud to present the 1st module created for the Heart failure Association (HFA of the ESC) based on information presented during the Heart failure Association conference in Belgrade - May 19-22, 2012.

Yann Colardelle, project director, stated: "This is indeed a milestone for both the HFA and Mededgs. Thanks to this new tool, physicians will be able to take advantage of high quality state-of-the-art online education. Tremendous effort as been made by HFA and the MedEdGS team to develop these modules. We are confident this will translate into better patients outcomes."

Success of the 6th International Cachexia Conference - Milan - 8-10 December 2011

Over 400 researchers and clinicians attended to discuss the burden and management of wasting disorders such as cachexia and sarcopenia. Some 60 international speakers shared their views of the current state of scientific research and potential therapeutic and nutritional options. Over 180 abstracts were received. The 6th Cachexia Conference was granted 15 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education). This multidisciplinary educational event was supported by a number of international companies such as Novartis, GSK, Nutricia, Abbott, Amgen, Helsinn, Fresenius-Kabi, Asubio, Ono, GTx, Theratech, etc.

DREAM Roundtable on Medscape/TheHeart

Meded GS organizes roundtable discussions with 7 international experts gathered in Paris on February 5, 2011.

The 2 discussions covered diabetic management beyond traditional risk factors and LDL-C control.

Poster Presentation by MedEd Global Solutions

MedEd Global Solutions was selected to present a poster during the recent International Academy of Nutrition and Aging (IANA) meeting in Bologna, Italy, on April 14, 2011.

The poster highlighted the recent e-learning course, "Managing Sarcopenia, Improving Physical Decline," which was implemented under the scientific direction of Professor Yves Rolland, University of Toulouse, Gerontopôle, France. This e-learning module is accessible via the learning management system platform of the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging (JNHA) -- JNHA e-Learning Academy -- at www.jnha-elearning.org.

MedEd GS organizes the 6th International Conference of the Society on Sarcopenia, Cachexia and Wasting Disorders (SCWD).

More than 400 international specialists will meet in Italy to address some of the most pertinent topics and developments in the field.

This international Conference will be held in Milan, Italy on December 8-10, 2011.

Program Chairmen:
- Akio Inui, Kagoshima, Japan
- Stefan D. Anker, Berlin, Germany
- John E. Morley, St. Louis, MO, USA

The following topics will be addressed during the conference:
- Cachexia in many illnesses
- Cachexia versus sarcopenia
- Pathophysiology and biochemistry of cachexia
- Therapy
- Consensus development and debates

Abstract submissions are welcome and online submission opens on June 1, 2011 and will remain open until September 5, 2011. Some Young Investigator awards will also be distributed. We hope that this scientific meeting will further the development of research and clinical management of cachexia and sarcopenia.
